Engage young people

The Oaktree Foundation
NSW Schools Team Leader
Manage a team
Make a difference in the developing world

The Oaktree Foundation is Australia`s first entirely youth run aid and development agency which aims "to empower developing communities through education in a way that is sustainable". Since 2003, Oaktree has provided over 27,500 young people in developing communities with educational opportunities.

The Schools Network is where making a difference begins, empowering school students around Australia to word up on issues like poverty and AIDS and then do something about it. The Schools Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operations of the schools team, including the rollout of Oaktree`s advocacy and fundraising initiatives in schools, presenting Oaktree`s program to key members of staff, representing and speaking on behalf of Oaktree in schools, and growing the schools team. Not only do the schools team members provide resources and some experience, but it’s up to them to empower young people in schools to create their own response to global issues – whereby they can dream up and independently run their own fundraising and advocacy events to begin making a difference.

Oaktree is seeking a someone aged between 18 and 25, who has experience as a leader, who is reliable, personable, creative, good at relationship management and problem solving to manage this exciting team!

The role requires a commitment of at least 8 hours per week. The timing of these hours is flexible, except for the attending of weekly meetings. There is also flexibility to do a proportion of the work from home.
