2009 Alumni Awards

2009 is set to be an exciting year with the Faculty celebrating our 30th Anniversary at Cumberland Campus.

In recognition of 30 years as a leading provider of allied health professionals, Sydney Uni are proud to announce the launch of the Health Sciences Alumni Awards program. This award program acknowledges Health Sciences’ alumni for their commitment to making a difference in local, Australian and international communities.

4 Awards

Alumni Award for Community Achievement - Recognises the personal contributions that alumni have made to the enrichment of Australian communities through their service in the area of health.

Alumni Award for International Achievement - Recognises the contributions that alumni who reside or work overseas have made to the improvements of international community(s) through their community or professional service in the area of health.

Alumni Award for Professional Achievement - Recognises outstanding achievements of alumni to the health profession.

Young Alumni Award for Achievement - Recognises outstanding achievements made by Health Science alumni aged 30 and younger to the University, local, Australian or international communities.

These awards will become an annual event on our Alumni Calendar and we encourage you to nominate and recognise your peers for their outstanding services to their professional field. Nominations are now online - Click here

What is CumboOTs.com

CumboOTs.com represents all OT student year groups (past, current and future) who study or have studied at The University of Sydney, Cumberland Campus.

CumboOTs.com will serve as the portal for all things CumboOT's.

Why Cumbo OTs?

The cruise, entitled “We’ll Float Your Boat” attracted some 261 students in October 2006, and proved to be a fantastic night cruising the harbour with good music, drinks, pizza and of course oozed "Cumbo" spirit! All ‘boat-floaters’ eagerly dressed to the theme of “I can’t believe you’re wearing THAT!” ... it was soon recognised that this was a valuble exercise. So, Why stop there! What we noticed was that we did not have a place that all our OT colleagues could stay up to date and so CumboOTs.com was born. With the help of the many other enthusiastic CumboOT's this site continues to grow and our CumboOT spirit is well and truely taking the Cumberland campus by storm.

Who can use CumboOT's.com?

Anyone! especially those of you who are enrolled or have been enrolled as an OT at Cumbo!!

CumboOTs.com is accessible to all. Whether you are still studying or have graduated. Regualar events and the Cumbo Spirit always just a click away!

CumboOTs.com aims to promote cohesion, communication, interaction and overall spirit amongst our OT student body, which we hope will continue beyond University and into our future careers as OT professionals.

Volunteering can be a great way to build an experience portfolio, practice skills, and to do something a little different. Volunteering also provides professional networks and job opportunities.

We know it is often difficult to find a volunteer service that suits your learning and working style, so this weblog will provide a range of volunteer opportunities from services who are actively seeking volunteers. We will update this site regulary so check often or better still -- SUBSCRIBE!.
